State Capital Projects Grants-in-Aid
Pre-application Deadline: July 12, 2013

State Capital Projects Grants-in-Aid funds support historic preservation projects of publicly-owned buildings.  These grants are available to public entities as defined by law, including county and local jurisdictions.  Non-profit organizations whose primary purpose is historical preservation and/or interpretation and occupy a building owned by a public entity may also be eligible to apply.  Two types of historic preservation projects are eligible for funding:  restoration and/or preservation, and building systems/accessibility. Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants (Legacy Grants):
Small Grants (up to $7000) | June 21, 2013; August 9, 2013; October 11, 2013 
Mid-Size and Large Grants | Pre-application Deadline: August 2, 2013; Final Deadline: September 27, 2013    

Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants (also known as Legacy Grants) are intended to preserve and enhance access to Minnesota’s cultural and historical resources and to support projects of enduring value to the state.  Grants may fund projects that address collections care and management of library and archival materials and museum collections, reprographic projects, digital conversion and access, preservation planning, historic preservation, and National Register nominations.  Small Grants and Structured Grants (also called Fast Track Grants) are awarded in amounts not to exceed $7,000.  Mid-Size (greater than $7,000 but less than $50,000) and Large (greater than $50,000) Grants are more competitive than Small and Structured Grants and require more rigorous review and oversight.  Please note pre-application deadlines for Mid-Size and Large Grants.  For all grants, work must be completed within twelve months.  Contact: Melinda Hutchinson, 651-259-3459, melinda.hutchinson@mnhs.org

Minnesota arts organizations can seek support for a variety of arts-related projects through the Minnesota Regional Arts Councils.  MN Regional Arts Councils operate separate sub-granting processes with differing interests and emphases.  Minnesota arts organizations may be eligible to apply for MSAB funds to assist with preservation projects, including conservation treatments, item-by-item conservation surveys, and general preservation needs assessment surveys.  Grant Amount/Period: varies/grant period. Missouri Historical Records Grants Program
